Allison photographing mushrooms on Gabriola Island, CanadaAfter 7 years of photographing natural scenes and landscapes, Allison began to realize that she could use man-made creations to create similar images as found in nature. Instead of using water for reflections, the windows of buildings could be substituted. Textures from bark could be supplemented by the textures and patterns created by a railing.

It was also during this time that Allison was exposed to other facets of photography including colour, digital and the historical techniques used by early photographers.

During the past 18 years Allison has allowed her style of photography to mature and grow, and will continue to do so in the future.
