Skaftafell National Park was founded in 1967 by the Icelandic Government and the world Wildlife Fund for Nature. Skaftafell is Iceland's largest national park and has stunning and accessible scenery, such as glaciers, natural vegetation, waterfalls, panorama's of ice and ice-scoured rock and tangled braided rivers across the sandur.
